Yasaman Mollasalehi is a Manchester-based painter originally from Tehran, Iran. Her artistic journey began amidst a challenging cultural landscape where art was not seen as a viable profession for women, prompting her to initially pursue science. Driven by an unyielding passion for creativity, she later earned a degree in Painting from the Tehran University of Art. Seeking a better space for her artistic life, she chose to relocate to the UK, where she completed her MA in Painting at Manchester School of Art, further advancing her practice.
Yasaman’s work is a fusion of Eastern and Western artistic traditions, exploring themes of memory, time, and cultural empathy. Deeply influenced by Persian Miniatures, her oil paintings feature intricate layers and washes, capturing the fluidity of memory and the interplay of light and form. Drawing from architecture, nature, and personal experiences, her art creates immersive landscapes that resonate with the shared human experience.
Committed to fostering connection through art, Yasaman’s practice celebrates cultural diversity while encouraging reflection on identity and resilience.
